General Information and Booking Conditions
BOOK WITH CONFIDENCE
In compliance with E.C. Package Travel Directive 90/314 Catalonia Walks have a trust account administered by chartered accountants, Butler Accountancy, Phoenix House, Kingmoor Park, Carlisle. Catalonia Walks have no access to your money until such time as your holiday is completed. All cheques must be made payable to Catalonia Walks Trust Account.
DEPOSITS AND BOOKING PROCEDURE
All holidays to Calella de Palafrugell guided and self guided - the deposit is £100 per person. For our self catering holidays in Estartit we charge a deposit of £150 per accommodation per week (lodges, apartments, town houses) and for Villa Estrella £200 per week. The balance of the holiday is due 56 days before departure. Bookings made within 56 days of travel must be paid for at the time of booking. To make a booking please check with us that the particular holiday you require is available. If your requested holiday is available we will hold your chosen holiday for 3 days pending receipt of your signed booking form and deposit cheque. Within 10 days you will receive a confirmation invoice which should be checked carefully for details. When paying your final balance please return a copy of the invoice or details including invoice number.
ACCOMMODATION DEPOSIT
Self catering only - On arrival at all self-catering accommodation you must pay a cleaning/damage deposit of £100 which is returnable less any damage charges at the end of your holiday.
INSURANCE
It is a condition of booking that all Catalonia Walks holidaymakers have adequate travel insurance which covers walking as an activity.
TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS
Catalonia Walks do not include any travel arrangements to Spain therefore cannot be held responsible for delays or cancellations in any flights, ferrys, trains, coaches etc. We will of course endeavour to assist any of our holidaymakers who are faced with delays and cancellations of travel arrangements.
HEALTH AND WALKING FITNESS
All our walks are suitable for holidaymakers who have a good level of general health. Please make sure that you choose an itinerary that suits your fitness level. Our programme 1 walks are generally low level walks with some steep inclines and descents but holidaymakers with a good general fitness level should find these walks suitable. Our programme 2 walks are more demanding and will suit holidaymakers who are regular walkers or have a higher than average general fitness level. It is of particular importance that all holidaymakers have suitable footwear as many of the walks are on rough and sometimes stoney tracks and trails. All footwear must have a good strong sole and preferably ankle support. Blisters will ruin your holiday and unfortunately we cannot offer refunds for walking days that you miss. We strongly suggest that you have a few walks in the weeks before your holiday, preferably in the same footwear you will use in Spain.
SAFETY AND CUSTOMER CONDUCT
Please take all reasonable care to ensure that you have a safe and enjoyable holiday. On guided walks our guides reserve the right to terminate the participation of any holidaymaker if in their considered opinion the holidaymaker is a danger to other holidaymakers and themself. Likewise, any customer by his health or anti-social behaviour will be liable to have his/her contract/holiday terminated with immediate effect. Our guide or local agent will have the final say over all such health, safety and behaviour issues. No refunds/compensation will be offered under such terminations by our staff or agents. Please also note that the owners/management of accommodations - hotels, holiday parks or self catering properties have the right to terminate your holiday should you transgress accommodation regulations or behave in an anti social manner - again Catalonia Walks will pay no compensation for lost days.
CANCELLATION AND ALTERATION OF HOLIDAY
If you need to make changes to your holiday we will do all we can to accommodate your new arrangements. If we incur charges and costs in making these changes we will pass on these charges plus any administration costs. However, we will limit such charges to a maximum of £35. Should you change to a more expensive holiday the full difference of cost plus the administration fee will be payable. In the event that we are unable to comply with your alteration, cancellation charges apply.

CHANGES AND CANCELLATIONS BY CATALONIA WALKS
Under such conditions where Catalonia Walks have no control we reserve the right to alter or cancell your holiday. Such events include civil unrest, natural disaster, disease, Òforce majeureÓ. If we cancel your holiday you are entitled to a full refund.
OUR LIABILITY
Although only classified as a low level activity, walking non the less does incur a level of risk. Slips, falls, twisted ankles, dehydrations, sunburn etc. are among the common risks. Catalonia Walks cannot be held responsible or liable for such misfortunes although we will endeavour to provide a high level of customer care and support at all times.
COMPLAINTS
In the unlikely event of you having a complaint while on holiday you must inform our local representative without delay. Most problems can be resolved on the spot if we are aware the problem exists. If we are unable to resolve the problem you must put your complaint in writing to our representative who will date and sign the written complaint and add his comments. On your return you must send your written complaint along with a copy of the resort complaint letter within 28 days of your return from holiday.
CHANGES TO ITINERAY
Catalonia Walks reserves the right to change any part of our walking programmes. Changes may occur due to path closures, fire risk, weather problems, improved itinerary or for any reason as the company sees fit in the best interests of its holidaymakers.
