They are especially designed for those who want everything taken care of - airport transfers, walk transfers, accommodation and a guide to maximise their holiday experience. Self guided or independent walks are for those who still prefer the stress taken out of the arrangements with airport transfers and accommodation taken care of but with the freedom to enjoy the walks at their own leisure. Remember, we also offer self catering lodges at Calella where you can choose guided or self guided walks. Our self catering walking holidays in Estartit are all self guided and will appeal to families, couples and groups of friends.

We realise that all our holidaymakers have a choice when booking their 2007 walking holiday. However, there are a few points to consider.

1. A ONE BASE HOLIDAY
At Catalonia Walks you will be based in one place for your entire holiday. Other companies will transfer you from hotel to hotel transporting your luggage. Every day or so you will have to pack your cases and unpack. With Catalonia Walks you can settle into your base hotel (or self catering accommodation), relax, get to know the hotel staff, make friendships and leave us to transport you to the start/finish of the walks. Surely a more relaxing holiday, especially if you have a superb base resort and accommodation.

2. TRANSFERS INCLUDED
Most of our holiday include private individual transfers from Gerona airport or Flaca railway station which has a direct train from Barcelona airport. This is a wonderfully relaxed way to start and finish your holiday. Naturally transfers to and from walks are included where appropriate.

3. PERSONAL SERVICE
We cannot emphasise strongly enough how important an emphasis we place on personal service in Calella. We will be walking with you on all the guided walks and available to all our self guided walkers on a daily basis. In Estartit we have the personal service of our local British agent who has been a good friend of ours for 10 years.
