Catalonia walks - coast & country walking holidays on the Costa Brava

Walks in Spain have a selection of holidays to suit people of all ages and fitness levels. Our holidays range from the all-inclusive to the more independent value holidays, to the combination breaks, however the one thing they all have in common is the care and attention to detail that has gone in to planning, what we are sure you will find to be, a very special holiday.

Our guided Costa Brava walks are a wonderfully varied combination of spectacular coastal scenery, hilltop medieval villages and ancient mountains. These walks are all based in beautiful calella de palafrugell where you can choose between an excellent hotel with outdoor heated pool or a self catering luxury lodge on a quality park. Most of these guided walking holidays in Spain are personally guided by R.S.P.B and wildlife trust member Peter Smith.

Our Calella de Palafugell independant walks follow the same programme as our guided walks, except that you choose your programme order, timetable and go at your own pace. You have a choice of hotel or self catering lodge. All our walks in estartit are independent and self catering. You can choose from apartments lodges and a luxury villa with private pool.

Walking is one of the most accessible pastimes: you can safely walk in towns or easy countryside without any specialist clothing or equipment at all, though it's always best to take sensible shoes or boots and warm and waterproof clothing if you want to go on longer walks or deeper into the countryside. Beyond that, a huge range of equipment is available to make your walking easier, safer and more comfortable.

More about Catalonia
The Autonomous Community of Catalonia (Catalan: Comunitat Autònoma de Catalunya; Spanish: Comunidad Autónoma de Cataluña; Aranese: Comunautat Autonoma de Catalonha) shares borders with France and Andorra North, Aragon West, Valencia South and 580 kms of landcoast in the Mediterranean Sea East.

Official languages are Catalan and Spanish. In the Aran Valley, Occitan (Aranese) is also official.

Catalonia is an Autonomous Community of Spain, with the status of historical region in the Constitution of Spain. In September 2005, the Catalan Parliament approved the definition of Catalonia as a nation in the preamble[1] of the new Catalan Statute (autonomous basic law). In opinion of the Spanish Government, this does have declaratory, but not legal value, since the Spanish Constitution recognizes the indissoluble "unity of the Spanish Nation". This said, Spain can now be argued to have a federal structure in practice.
